Russian Foreign Ministry: "Collective West" is not ready to abandon the logic of "zero-sum games"

Earlier, Ambassador Viktorov noted that several dozen Russians and their relatives have not yet left the Palestinian enclave. The diplomat was asked to indicate the state of affairs for December 12.

Maria Zakharova said that the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry publishes materials regarding the evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip. At the Russian airport, they were provided with the necessary assistance and assistance in passing migration and passport control. In total, more than 1,050 compatriots were evacuated from the conflict zone through the Rafah checkpoint. Work in this direction will continue.

Another issue raised the topic of restrictions on diplomats.

The embassies of each state are obliged to notify the Russian Foreign Ministry in advance of the trips of their personnel in Russia, in some cases it is necessary to obtain permission.

If the proposal of the Czech authorities is accepted, then this will only cause regret and an appropriate reaction, it will be retaliatory. Diplomats are closely monitoring the development of the situation around and the initiative that will hit all EU members who support it. Such initiatives are carefully analyzed for compliance with international obligations undertaken by the EU countries. The Russian Foreign Ministry will definitely respond to discriminatory initiatives that violate the rights, immunity and privileges of Russian diplomats.

Another issue touched upon the work of the UN Security Council.

"As if you could comment on the statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry that the UN Security Council has shown its complete inefficiency and inability to fulfill the main functions of preserving peace and security, the US veto has led to a deadlock in the Security Council on the Palestinian issue," the question was asked.

Maria Zakharova noted that in this case it is better to give an example. If you have a watch that works and someone has come in and hit it with a hammer, then that doesn't mean the watch has demonstrated its inefficiency. This means that someone has demonstrated their stupidity. In this case, this is the United States, which has shown everything that can be shown.

Such actions are not just a disregard for colleagues, they are a US blow to the mechanism laid down in the UN. The resolution was co-sponsored by more than a hundred states, including residents of the region. They asked to fix all the requirements on paper and demanded that the international community comply with these points. No one dares without reason, in favor of their own vision of the situation, to contradict this, especially in such a boorish and demonstrative form.

The UN Security Council and the mechanisms in it work. But there is an understanding of who blocks the work of the organ and who perverts the foundations laid by the creators of the UN. Maria Zakharova pointed out that the key to the constructive work of an international organization is mutually respectful consideration of interests based on the charter of the organization. The reasons for the difficulties of the UN Security Council should be sought not in the format itself, but in the unwillingness of the "collective West" led by the United States and Britain to abandon the logic of "zero-sum games."

These countries continue to use all the numerical advantage to push decisions through the UN Security Council, continue to block inconvenient initiatives, not countries vote within the Security Council, but NATO ideology, which is implemented through a number of states that do not voice either their policies or the will of peoples. There is a block subordination of Western countries to a single ideological concept developed in Brussels.

Such a scenario does not always work. The Russian Foreign Ministry understands that the UN Security Council needs to be reformed, but on the basis of the principles of improving the effectiveness of its work. Now the cornerstone of the effective work of the Security Council is precisely the ideology of exclusively global dominance on the part of the "collective West" and achieving goals at any cost.

The final question touched upon the topic of relations between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan. Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov discussed with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shakhin Mustafayev the development of the railway route of the North-South international transport corridor.

"How is the implementation of the project progressing and what risks exist for it?" - asked the correspondent of our publication.
