Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on The Moscow Post on the situation with migrants on the border of Belarus and Poland.

Answering a question from a journalist for The Moscow Post at today's briefing, Maria Zakharova spoke about the migration crisis at the EU borders.

"How do you assess attempts to tie Russia to the situation with migrants on the border of Belarus and the European Union?," Our journalist asked the diplomat.

"There is no need to tie Russia to anything. There are objective facts, "Zakharova said, and recalled that" those who want to analyze the reasons still need to have courage and understand that the picture is much wider, and the story does not begin yesterday and not even in the spring of this year, 21 years... "

"The next aspect. How and what can be done to avoid loss of life? Start negotiations. This is what is spelled out again in all textbooks on international relations, diplomacy... We need negotiations, "said Maria Zakharova and recalled that since April Belarus is ready for them.

"Probably, we need some kind of political will of the EU and its individual countries in order to deal with practical issues and problems that blossomed on their borders instead of empty talk on how to equip life in Belarus," she added.

The representative of the Foreign Ministry noted that here it is necessary to engage in applied, practical diplomacy.

"And to know the legal aspects, to know the history of the issue, to find solutions, to implement in practice human rights, which have been talked about so much and have done so little. It's a job. And, by the way, not the most grateful, because the multi-component, and very badly neglected situation, "she explained.

"First, start negotiations. Secondly, nevertheless, to act on the basis of the declared human rights humanitarian norms and rules. Just apply them in practice, "called Maria Zakharova.

"Regarding, as you said, the growing conflict with the EU, we definitely have nothing to do with it. Why do we get involved there in the information plan, so to speak, or mention there, well, we know the answer to this question: because we need to constantly come up with some facts that do not exist in order to maintain the myth of our kind of aggressiveness, "said the representative of the Foreign Ministry.

The diplomat recalled that this situation has nothing to do with Russia at all. And she emphasized that attempts to blame Russia on this issue have no basis.

"Responsible journalists, in my opinion, should approach this false information accordingly. Another thing is that they are trying to do this, journalists, they are trying to cover this crisis, both from Belarus and from Poland. On the part of Belarus, they succeed, but on the part of Poland... well, we see what is happening, "added Maria Zakharova.

She recalled the incident that occurred just recently. We are talking about the detention by Polish law enforcement agencies of a correspondent and an operator who performed the editorial task of RT France.

The diplomat noted that the journalists did not go to the zone where some secret object is located. They do their journalistic work.

"They want to talk objectively about what is happening there. I have great respect for the rules, laws, procedure for accreditation of journalists in various countries... But there is such an operational situation. It's not about the safety of journalists... This is a humanitarian situation. And journalists want to do a report about it. Once again - with all due respect to domestic legislation, but still there are those very high words about freedom of speech, independence of journalism, assistance to it... which we heard, including from Warsaw. And from Brussels... We must do all this, "she added.

Maria Zakharova believes that one of the goals is to divert attention from the real situation and divert attention from the extremely harsh treatment of the Polish authorities with migrants and refugees in violation of their humanitarian obligations.

"If they said that Moscow was to blame, then they themselves no longer bear any responsibility, they are already pretending that not so much in relation to the migrant to use this force, but in relation to those who, from their point of view, created this situation. And other countries are called, "the diplomat explained.

A representative of the Russian ministry commented, and Poland's call for NATO to take part in resolving the crisis at the border. She believes that this is provocative and very dangerous, and this can lead to an unnecessary escalation of the situation.

She recalled that it was the NATO bombing company in Libya at one time "that led to an influx of migrants from North Africa to Europe and the scale of this disaster exceeds all modern examples."

"The current circumstances provided the EU countries with an opportunity to demonstrate in practice their commitment to high humanistic ideals and international law. They call themselves developed democracies, full-fledged democracies, perfect democracies, which are based not just on someone's invented, but on absolutely concrete and many times re-established principles - human rights, freedom of speech... Here you can now show everyone... But instead, Polish border guards with the silent, again, support of Brussels... put into action against unarmed people who came from states destroyed by Western interventions,... they now use water cannons, batons, tear gas. The fact that the Polish authorities do not allow human rights defenders and journalists to the scene, well, again speaks for itself. Apparently, there is something to hide. What other explanations are there? Security question? No, "Maria Zakharova was indignant.

She again emphasized that "the primary solution to the situation is only one - negotiations, contacts, dialogue with those countries that are now at the forefront of this situation." And she recalled that Minsk announced not only its readiness, but even specific measures that they could implement.

"Yes, at the same time, we note the careful steps of Germany and the EU in this direction, in the direction of such contacts, dialogue. We proceed from the fact that in resolving this issue, the EU will rely on extensive experience in solving problems on southern migration routes, "she concluded.
