How the Foreign Minister put the EuroNATO Union in its place.

"I don't know what the new world order will be. We sincerely signed documents that recorded the principles to which we are still true. But the West trampled them, "Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with the Big Game program, according to The Moscow Post.

The design has crumbled and the foundations of relations with Washington, the coordination of which has been given decades of work, cannot be returned. How will Russia behave with Europe and NATO? Rarely will politicians of this level hear: "You have no idea how my hands itch...," - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Big Game program, when it comes to Nord Stream.

"Golden Billion" against

Ultimately, this is a matter of direct attack and assassination... on Russian property,... I don't want to threaten or threaten anyone. I don't want to hint at anything. I know that this gross terrorist attack will not remain unexplored. If the investigation is blocked,... we will think how to respond to the West, "the minister said.

"In Western states, in their basic laws, an attack on critical infrastructure is equated with a declaration of war," Lavrov added and recalled in this regard that a spokesman for the US president spoke about an international investigation into the poisoning incident in Iranian schools.

"But there is no need to investigate the issue of a direct attack on critical energy infrastructure facilities," the minister complained about the position of the West. Because, allegedly, the Swedes, Danes and Germans themselves will "figure it out." But letters from Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin remain unanswered. And according to Deputy Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky, neighbors in the Baltic Sea answer Russia like this: "Do not get into your business." The Permanent Mission intends to distribute a copy of this correspondence to the UN Security Council.

The Golden Billion is controlled by the secretariat of the World Organization, its special institutions, funds and programs. This, according to Lavrov, does not reflect the realities of a multipolar world, but speaks of the desire of the global minority to dominate. Whether Russia will do something to change this situation, Lavrov did not say.

Attenuation compensated by aggressiveness

It followed from the minister's answers that the West in its own way interprets the principles of ensuring security, continues to try to strengthen its own security by infringing on the interests of others, when a country (USA) or an organization (NATO, AUKUS) dominates and builds the entire system in their own interests and on a bloc basis.

Lavrov explained this by saying that "the West has significantly weakened its global position, but at the same time retains a serious influence in the economy, technology, and the military sphere. This is a relative weakening... they are trying to compensate for the sharply increased aggressiveness, primarily in the military-political sphere, and the suppression of competitors by illegitimate methods. "

Lavrov recalled how the European Union unceremoniously interfered in the relations of post-Soviet Ukraine with Russia, ignoring the "existing trade regimes." I also remembered the arrogance of the then President of the European Commission J. Barroso, who refused to hold a meeting of experts in a trilateral format to agree on economic issues. All this ended in a bloody coup in Kyiv, which the United States and the European Union supported.

Nine years have passed and this "Western international," as the minister called it, has "clung" to Russia, is pressing in all directions, hoping to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Moscow in the conflict over the former Ukraine. As Lavrov said, in the course of "extremely aggressive expressions, rhetoric and actions."

Everything that was signed within the framework of the OSCE, including the principle of indivisibility of security, is trampled. Channels of diplomatic ties are destroyed. The "spiral of tightening the conditions" in which diplomats work is winding up.

Russia's contributions to the equity capital of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have "frozen the Western community," the minister said.

The reserves of trust and goodwill are exhausted. Many years of negotiations within the framework of the Minsk process and the Normandy format turned out to be a disguise and preparation of the Ukrainian Nazis and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for revenge in Crimea and the Donbass. Even the UN Security Council resolution on Ukraine did not help.

Who needed Nazism again?

But attempts to harm this are not limited. "Europe again needed Nazism in order to either direct it against us, or [use it] as a means of deterring Russia," Lavrov said in an interview. The conflict went beyond Ukraine, and the United States and the European Union preferred escalation. According to the minister, illegal and unprecedented sanctions "show that the West really decided for itself that this is a war not for life, but for death."

Lavrov confirmed that he had recently discussed with the US Secretary of State the situation in the field of strategic stability in the context of the Treaty on the Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START) and the Ukrainian topic. He expressed the position that the suspension of Russia's participation in the START Treaty is forced. Signals that Russia will not discuss issues related to START with the United States while Washington is fomenting the conflict in Ukraine came from the Russian Foreign Ministry back in November 2022. Then the meetings of the bilateral advisory commission were postponed, it was stated that Washington should take into account Moscow's concerns.

In particular, the preamble of the START Treaty says that Russia and the United States are working "to strengthen new strategic relations based on mutual trust, openness, predictability and cooperation," are guided by the "principle of indivisible security."

The erosion of the arms control regime has been underway in recent years. In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to hit the long-range aviation facilities of the Russian Federation not without the help of the Pentagon. US Ambassador to Moscow Lynn Tracy was given a presentation on "the expanding involvement of the US in hostilities on the side of the Kyiv regime... and target designations for striking Russian military and civilian infrastructure facilities. "

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the relevant law on March 1. The Russian Federation does not withdraw from the treaty, but before returning to discussing the issue of its continuation, it must understand how the START Treaty will take into account the arsenals of not only the United States, but also Great Britain and France, as nuclear members of the alliance. The leaders of the latter two called on Russia to return to participate in the agreement. This is stated in a joint statement following the bilateral summit held on Friday in Paris.

Preventive strategy

Lavrov mentioned that there was a normal conversation with the US Secretary of State. "I don't know how much this reflects the US understanding of the abnormality of the situation when they chopped off all the channels of dialogue. But it was never a sensation to talk humanly "on the sidelines" of some event, "he said of the contact that took place in India on the sidelines of the G20.

Anthony Blinken himself said later during a conference of The Atlantic magazine that he did not consider current relations between the West and Russia a new Cold War. The reason for the disagreement is Ukraine, not ideology, he said.

In the 2022 US National Defense Strategy, published by the military, Russia was given the title of "acute threat." It is stated that the United States is ready to quickly negotiate with Russia on the New START Treaty, want to keep communication channels open and maintain a dialogue on strategic stability in the interests of nuclear non-proliferation and risk reduction.

US intelligence in a recently published report by the Director of National Intelligence noted Russia's "reluctance" to go into direct conflict with the NATO alliance, but warned of the threat of a clash. But Washington began to pave the way to the heights of the escalation of the conflict and brought the matter to the point that the conflict around Ukraine really threatens to cross the borders of the former USSR.

As Fyodor Lukyanov put it, the conflict in Ukraine and nuclear weapons are in the "same plane," these potentials have been the foundation of bilateral relations for many years, and dialogue on strategic stability remained almost the only platform for relations.

In the new conditions, even diplomats leading issues of strategic stability lose hope. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with RT Arabic TV channel that, if necessary, contacts with representatives of the American side will continue, but serious results cannot be expected.

The restraint and caution characteristic of this profession is also a thing of the past. Ambassador Alexander Kramarenko, former director of the Foreign Ministry's Foreign Policy Planning Department and a North American specialist, proposed a "preventive strategy... with the forcing of a direct conflict with NATO "and the declaration of de facto war on the alliance.

Lukyanov believes that "confrontation is also a relationship... in terms of intensity and importance to the parties, maybe even surpass what was before. " Moreover, we are talking about an acute confrontation between two nuclear superpowers, in which one participates directly and the second indirectly.

About neighbors, conflict and priorities

At the very beginning of the conversation, Lavrov somehow warned, commenting on the state of affairs in some neighboring countries of Russia, that they should draw conclusions from how dangerous the course to involve the United States in the zone of interests is.

He also recalled that in Ukraine "we are talking about an existential conflict. Western interests in the field of global security, the prospects of its hegemony led by the United States and the prospects of their dominance in world affairs depend on its outcome. "

According to Lavrov, the roots of the conflict with the West in the fact that "Russia began to be perceived as too independent a player," gained economic strength, remained among the leading economies. Russia has serious moral and political positions in the international arena, speaks on key issues for developing countries from the standpoint of justice and criticism of the post-colonial system that the West would like to preserve.

The interview turned out to be lengthy, Sergey Lavrov's answers were detailed, questions too. They took about one-fifth of the entire text.

"There can be no return to the old one. The West, too, says "business as usual" is excluded. We do not need to be convinced of this. We have long made all the conclusions for ourselves, "concluded Sergey Lavrov.
