Russian Foreign Ministry: US and EU convince Armenia to withdraw from CSTO and force cooperation with NATO

In a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry dated September 25, Armenia is called "a hostage to the geopolitical games of the West."

"How do you assess the goals of the US and NATO policy in Armenia? What can Russia and other Armenian CSTO allies expect? In particular, how, in your opinion, can the situation in Armenia "destabilize the common Eurasian space," as noted in the Statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry?, "- asked the journalist of our publication.

Maria Zakharova pointed out that the United States and other NATO countries set out to destabilize the common Eurasian space. The United States has previously seen post-Soviet territories as an arena of geopolitical rivalry with Russia.

In pursuit of goals and results, the West forgot about its own statements in the field of human rights. They ignore the beatings and arrests of demonstrators in Armenia. The United States does not see and does not want to comment on what is happening with the opposition in the country, which is threatened if rallies continue. All this is another pseudo-democracy.

There is a violation of our own democratic values, but in fact it is interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.
