The first question from our publication concerned the sensational initiative to seize the transport of Russian citizens in the EU as part of the sanctions.

"How many appeals of Russian citizens to the situation and crisis center for the seizure of vehicles in the European Union in 2023?," The journalist asked.

Yuri Gorlach said that the department monitored the situation in a number of countries in Europe, the USA, Canada, where sanctions pressure from local authorities could be taken against Russians.

The diplomat pointed out that the department warned that Russians could face unfriendly actions, this was aimed at preventing incidents.

In the part that concerns the seizure of cars from citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of the European Union, Russian foreign institutions, primarily in Germany and the Baltic countries, carried out a lot of information work to warn citizens against such situations.

Appeals were received, they were analyzed, accumulated to work with European and other multilateral organizations to protect the rights of Russians abroad. The situation is not simple, consulates are promptly notified of any emergencies with citizens of the Russian Federation, and their employees connect and help. There are 24-hour hotlines through which you can get prompt assistance.

The diplomat pointed out that on holidays it is necessary to carefully monitor messages from local authorities and emergency services so that there are as few negative situations as possible on rest days.

The diplomat did not name exactly how many appeals were received.

Another question of The Moscow Post touched upon the risks for citizens of the Russian Federation when traveling abroad.

"The latest travel risk warning on your website was issued on November 14 (Canada). What travel destinations can be considered undesirable in January 2024?, "The correspondent asked.

Yuri Gorlach noted that when Russians go abroad, they are in the jurisdiction of the authorities of the host countries, they should comply with the rules and established norms for staying in states.
