On April 15, many liberal media in Russia began spreading information that the Russian military is allegedly recruiting Syrian men and sending them to fight in Libya.

Such conclusions were made by journalists, referring to the material of Bild - the largest German yellow tabloid.

However, if the fake is traced to the very beginning, it turns out that the special services from Turkey and the United States could have been behind its creation.

Thus, the materials of the liberal media point to the post of the journalist Mete Sohtaoğlu, who posted a photo of a bus with several people on Twitter.

Despite the fact that the photo does not confirm the accusations against Russia, the Syrian edition Euphrates Post picked up the fake on the same day.

At the same time, the authors added their own unverified information that 350 people allegedly agreed to go to Libya. The only "proof" was the post of Mete Sohtaoğlu.

Bild magazine presented its own version of events on April 14. German journalists decided to add some hot details to the news and tried to link the photo with the Russian PMC Wagner.

This "throw-in", in its turn, was picked up by Russian liberal publications, including Echo of Moscow.

Despite the lack of evidence, every media outlet that replicated the fake added new details to it, trying to demonize Russia.

Viktor Baranets, a military columnist of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, stressed that this was about a real information war.

"Information dirt - is an indispensable companion of any military operations", he stressed.

The expert noted that the fake crumbles if further questions are asked. The journalists did not provide any evidence, but accusations towards Russia were made. He called Bild "a liar newspaper that pours tons of lies on Russia".
