Today there was another briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. Traditionally, the correspondent of The Moscow Post asked his questions.

The journalist asked about reformatting the work of diplomatic missions in the region of Northern Europe and Great Britain. It was reported that the work of foreign institutions in this direction will be changed significantly. Maria Zakharova was asked to tell what changes are expected.

In response, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the work of Russian foreign institutions will be adjusted taking into account the tasks formulated in the Concept of Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation. As soon as a practical result is achieved to adjust the work of the department will be reported, currently all work is in progress.

The second question of the journalist touched upon the topic of cooperation in the Arctic region. The correspondent recalled that Bloomberg and the Financial Times spoke almost simultaneously on the problems of the Arctic region, relations between Western countries and Russia in the Arctic Council. They write that Russia is actually excluded from the Council, that in fact it can even increase the influence of the Russian Federation in the Arctic.

"How can you comment on this?," The question was asked.

Maria Zakharova pointed out that no one expelled Russia from the Arctic Council. Full-length work on the initiative of Western countries was frozen earlier. On May 11, our country, on a planned basis, completed a two-year period of chairmanship in the organization, confirming the self-sufficiency of its potential in the Arctic.

"Everyone who is trying to isolate us also in this direction should understand this," the diplomat said.

Full cooperation in the Arctic without Russia is nonsense, since we are the largest Arctic power. The decisions of the Russian side on interaction in the Arctic region will depend on the actions of other members of the organizations.

The final issue touched upon the safety of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. Earlier, IAEA General Director Rafael Grossi proposed "five conditions" for ensuring the safety of the facility. At the same time, he is not ready to admit that the shelling of the station is carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This "story of uncertainty" has been going on for many months.

"What solution can be found to protect the ZPP from shelling?," The journalist asked.

Maria Zakharova recalled Igor Nikolaev's song "Five Reasons," speaking of Grossi's performance. The five recommendations voiced by the head of the IAEA to ensure the safety of the Zaporizhzhya NPP were the result of the fact that the Kyiv regime refused to implement initiatives to create a protective zone at the NPP.

The recommendations of the IAEA director were based on this initiative, they agree with the proposals of the Russian Federation to ensure the safety of a nuclear facility. Our country has not deployed weapons on the territory of the station and does not plan to do so. There are only security forces to protect against attacks by militants of the Kyiv regime and preserve the safety of station workers.

During the UN Security Council meeting, Grossi's recommendations were rejected by the Kyiv regime, Ukraine tried to change them, dictate its own conditions, demonstrating its focus on continuing provocations with shelling of the station.

Russia intends to ensure the protection of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in such a way as not to disrupt the safety of the facility by the actions of the Kyiv regime and the collective West. The Russian Federation will harshly respond to any attacks on Zaporizhzhya NPP facilities, infrastructure, power lines and the city of Energodar, where employees of the nuclear power plant and their families live.
